I started a blog!...Finally!

First off, if you are reading this, that means you actually visited my blog site! Thank you! I wanted to have my first blog post tell you why I decided to start a blog. First off, let me start by telling you what I do for a living; I am an Accountant. While most wouldn't describe my job to be artistic or even remotely exciting, it has provided a stable and good living for me thus far. And as much as I hate to admit it, I actually really love numbers! However, with that being said, I also love to shop, create, and pretty much do anything design related. Since my job doesn't offer the other side of things I love doing, I thought I would create a blog that combines both of my passions. While most people wouldn't say that accounting and all those other things go together, I would beg to differ.

Since I am pretty much always shopping, creating or changing our house, I need to create a budget to make sure I allow myself to do all the things I want to do. I am always searching for the best finds at the lowest prices. Since I was little, I have always loved shopping at bargain stores (Forever 21, Old Navy, and Target to name a few). I love putting together outfits, rooms, dinners and everything else by buying items that are "affordable", or as other might describe as "cheap". I have found that my house and my clothes can look expensive without being expensive at all!So with that being said, that will be the focus of my blog, "creating a beautiful life on a budget."

I know the web is completely saturated with blogs about DIY, design, shopping, and most likely there are hundreds of other sites that are doing the same thing I am doing, but I would like to think that this will be just a little bit different and that I will have fun doing it.

And why the name Gallant Lady you ask? In a day and age where pretty much every  name or website is taken, you have to get creative. My grandma, who I absolutely adore and love, has always been and always will be a huge role model and influence in my life. A long time ago, she stared in a movie called "Gallant Lady". Not only is the name of the movie unique, I thought it was a good way to pay tribute to an incredible woman who has not only influenced my beauty and design sense, she has played part in the woman I am today. (Thats her to the right).

What you can expect to see from the blog:

1. A lot about my wedding. Since I just got married over 3 months ago, I am still very much missing the planning and hype of it all. What better way to relive it then tell you all how I planned it and ways I saved?

2. My house design. My husband and I recently moved, and I have been having so much fun putting it together. I hope to share the before and afters of our house and where we shopped to find great pieces for our first home together.

3, DIY Projects. Enough Said.

4. Dinner and Food! I love food, I always have and always will! I also love finding new recipes and creating dinners that are affordable, taste delicious, and are healthy.

5. Shopping and Outfits. I have always loved shopping and putting together a great outfit at an affordable cost. I hope to share with you my favorite sites, stores, and deals along the way.

So, I hope you can continue to follow! I am excited to see what this blog has in store for me and how it will evolve.
